Qasigiannguit Museums bygninger er for hovedparten kolonitidsbygninger.
To af bygningerne er opført i koloniens tidlige år og repræsenterer således den tidlige europæiske bygningskultur i Grønland.
Typisk er bygningerne præfabrikerede, er flyttet eller ombygget , - der er også eksempler på genanvendt træ i nye sammenhænge.
De to bygninger B-4 og B-3 er fra hhv 1730'erne og 1750'erne. Begge er stokværkshuse - dvs bygninger, hvis stokke er skåret til og afsendt som samlesæt.
Bygning B-4 er af norsk stokværkstradition (laftehus) og B-3 i dansk tradition
Museets tredie bygning B-8 er delvis bygget af gamle stokke og herpå er en nyere bygning udbygget i bræddebeklædt bindingsværk.
Værkstedsbygningen B-18 er opført i en bræddeklædt bindingsværkskonstruktion og delvist beklædt med meget gamle tjærede planker (nordgavlen)
Den grønlandske byggetradition er på museet repræsenteret i selvbyggerhuset B-186, der er et bindingsværkshus med saddeltag, og i museets tørvehus, som er opført som en trækonstruktion med udvendig tørvemursisolering og med fladt tag.
