Dissemination cart
The museum has a small collection of examples of local minerals and rock types, with examples of how they are made.
The collection is not exhibited in its entirety but the museum has created a cart with rocks from the local geology that can be put out to the public upon request.
The cart is made out of shelves containing examples of the local geology – primarily gneis’ and minerals.
One shelf is dedicated to the how these minerals are created and for every shelf there’s a dissemination paper ready.
The cart works well in cooperation with fieldstrips and research in the surrounding area.
The museum is happy to provide information on where to go and to loan out hammers and magnifying glasses used for the purpose.
