Class and student visits
Qasigiannguit Museum doesn’t have a regular school service but is more than happy to cooperate with teachers around organizing courses in areas that fall within the field of action of the museum.
The collaboration is possible as an example in:
- Specially organised and prepared visits and tours
- Helping in the research of a specific subject
- meetings with the students regarding projects or bigger papers
Always remember to contact the museum in good time.
Cultural heritage through games
The museum has developed a special concept regarding cultural heritage through games, and the museum offers to loan out wooden toys and skin samples used for games and to stimulate a conversation with the children.
Cultural heritage through exercise and sport
Under the project, Living Settlement the museum offers training in archery with modern bows. From October until March, the shooting takes place indoors and from April until August outside close to the museum.
Museum for kids
In the summer and fall holidays the museum offers special activities for kids in the daily hours in subjects picked up from the cultural and natural history.
Under the project, ‘Living Settlement’ a weekly workshop is opened up with a focus on teaching techniques from the cultural heritage.
For kids and their parents
To visit a museum with small kids can sometimes be a challenge but the museum has taken steps to alleviate this by decorating a corner of the museum with toys and materials to stimulate conversation.
